I Am You

2016, digital video, 5:54

I Am You is a looped portrait video exploring the projection of personal past experiences onto others in the present.

When we name our pets or choose their clothing, we unconsciously impose our subjective will—shaped by our past experiences, expectations, and learned behaviors—onto them. Similarly, we often project these influences onto people, particularly within our families, and most notably onto children.

In this work, the mannequin girl symbolizes the embodiment of our projections, serving as a reflection of our desires and intentions imposed on others.
